Job Description:

As Clinical Nurse Lead for TDDA/Health Tick, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that TDDA/Health Tick has the framework to attract, develop and retain the best nursing talent for TDDA/Health Tick, including assisting our business owners with their recruitment & retention processes to help build a strong nurse network. You will also ensure our nurses are adequately trained and compliant with relevant regulations and guidelines. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for employees while promoting best practices in occupational health nursing.

Responsibilities:

o   Professional Development: Assisting business owners with their recruitment and retention processes to help build a strong nurse network with the group.  Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and best practices in the field of occupational health nursing.

o   Training Development: Our existing comprehensive training programmes and materials for occupational health nursing staff, cover a wide range of topics such as occupational health regulations, workplace hazards, audiometry, spirometry, health promotion and compliance with occupational health regulations. There is also plenty of scope to develop additional packages as we grow and expand our services.

o   Training Delivery: Using our existing or evolving modules, deliver engaging interactive training to nursing staff, ensuring that they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively and in compliance with occupational health standards.

o   Compliance Oversight: Monitor and assess compliance with relevant regulations, standards, internal policy, and guidelines, such as those set by The Nursing Council of NZ, HSW Act 2015 and NZOHNA – as well as internal service delivery requirements. Identify areas of non-compliance and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.

o   Service & Policy Development: Collaborate with the management team to develop and update services, policies and procedures related to occupational health nursing practices and service delivery models. Ensure that these policies align with legal requirements and industry best practices.

o   Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the implementation of occupational health nursing practices, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to established protocols.

o   Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to training, compliance, incidents, and occupational health nursing activities. Ensure that documentation is organised and accessible for regulatory purposes.

o   Ensure TDDA/Health Tick offers services to meet client demand whilst continually innovating current services and developing nurse needs.

o   Create and maintain an innovation road map with accountability for new service timeframes, piloting of services and the national rollout across the network.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in nursing
  2. Current registration for Nursing Council of NZ
  3. Proven experience in occupational health nursing, primary health care or related field
  4. Experience managing clinical teams to deliver exceptional quality services
  5. Postgraduate qualification in occupational health or primary health care highly desirable
  6. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  8. Strong organisational and time management abilities
  9. Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of team
  11. Excellent computer skills
  12. Authorised independent vaccinator – not essential.
  13. Spirometry competency certified – not essential.
  14. Audiology testing competency certified – not essential
  15. Experience managing clinical teams to deliver exceptional quality services
