Occupational Health Nurse

We currently have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Qualified OHN Nurse to assist our EHS Team in Hastings. This position Reports to the EHS Manager. At times you will be required to assist with risk assessments in collaboration with other team members. Our team works in a busy, high volume environment. Your strong time management skills, along with your strong Microsoft Office and other database skills and willingness to work within a team environment will be critical to your success.

What we require from you:

• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining occupational health policies & procedures
• Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining a health promotion program
• Management of non-work and work injuries and illnesses
• Provide care for injured/ill employees within the scope of professional nursing practice
• Organise and oversee first aid facilities and personnel
• Conduct pre-employment health screening & annual health monitoring.

Training in Audiometry and Spirometry desirable

• Process and maintain medical records
• Promote a health and safety culture
• A sound knowledgebase in the field of Health and Safety under the New Zealand legislation
• Independent vaccination training desirable with ability to run vaccine clinic i.e. influenza, Hep B and tetanus
• Qualification in NZQA Drug and Alcohol screening desirable
• Able to navigate databases, data entry, reports
• Strong Microsoft Office software skills

• Current annual practicing certificate for a registered nurse
• Experience or knowledge in Occupational Health
