Amie Milkins, Health Promotion Officer and Coordinator of Communities That Care Stonnington, Star Health, Melbourne, Australia
Amie Milkins is a Health Promotion Officer at Star Health (formerly Inner South Community Health). Over the past ten years, Amie has completed a range of studies including applied science, human nutrition, and a Master of Health Science (Health Promotion). Amie has gained substantial experience through her volunteering work with Thorne Harbour Health (formerly Victorian AIDS Council), Heart Foundation and Star Health and sits as a current Director on the Windsor Community Bank Board. Amie was a project lead of the Smiles 4 Miles program across two local government areas, developed an e-Referral system to create greater access to community dental, is the coordinator of the PARTi overdose prevention project and co-founder of the Seaford Good Karma Network. As the Communities That Care Stonnington Coordinator, Amie works with over 30 partners across three key priority areas; reducing adolescent alcohol and drug use, improving school engagement and improving family function. Amie’s community engagement skills, project management and passion for equity ensures there is opportunity to give voice to those less heard.
